Deviates Premieres New Single, ‘Wasted,’ Video; Announces New Album Details

Aug. 17 — Independent punk rock band Deviates released its first new music in 20 years this week.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Wasted‘ and its companion video Tuesday. The song is the lead single from the band’s forth coming album, Holding Out, which is scheduled for release Sept. 17. A limited run of translucent blood red vinyl pressings (approximately 500 copies) is scheduled for release Nov. 15.

Holding Out is only the third album from Deviates. It consists of a total of seven songs.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Wasted’ instantly lends itself to comparison to works from Offspring. That is made clear through the vocals, guitar, bass, and drums collectively. No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the premiere of the song and its video.

Speaking of the video, it is a simple presentation. Meant to present a DIY style look, the video features the band performing on stage in a small club setting as the song plays over that visualization.

In other news, Deviates is scheduled to join Pennywise for a handful of live shows this fall. The bands’ dates are noted below. Tickets are available here.

Tour Dates:

10/7 – Majestic Ventura Theater – Ventura, CA (w/ Pennywise + Dead Kennedys + Slaughterhouse)

10/8 – The Majestic Ventura Theater – Ventura, CA (w/ Pennywise + Strung Out + The Line) (SOLD OUT)

10/9 – Fremont Theatre – San Luis Obispo, CA (w/ Pennywise + The Line)

11/5– SOMA – San Diego CA (w/ Pennywise + Strung Out + Urethane)
