Nov. 11 — Oceanhoarse premiered the lyric video for its latest single this week.
The band premiered the lyric video for its new single, ‘Fields of Severed Dreams’ Thursday. The song is the fifth single from the band’s debut album, Dead Reckoning, which was released in August through Noble Demon. The album has also produced the singles, ‘From Hell To Oblivion,’ ‘The Damage,’ ‘Reaching Skywards,’ and ‘One With The Gun.’
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Fields of Severed Dreams’ is for the most part, an emo-punk style composition as is evidenced through the song’s guitar line, vocals, and drums. Interestingly enough, the song takes an old school metal turn in the breakdowns. Those moments take audiences back to the days of big riffs and even bigger hair.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the video’s premiere. Going through the song’s lyrics, the inference can be made that the song focuses on the powers that be working to hold people down and on the efforts to overcome those obstacles. This is just this critic’s interpretation and should not be taken as the only one thereof.
The lyric video features the song’s lyrics presented in a very sharp, edgy font. The font is presented over imagery of storm clouds and more random figures, perhaps to help translate the song’s message and the intense emotions connected to the message.
In other news, Oceanhoarse has announced a new slate of live European dates scheduled to launch Tuesday in Denmark. The tour is scheduled to run through Dec. 15 in Gdanks, Poland. The band’s tour and tickets are available here.
