Oceanhoarse Premieres ‘The Damage’ Lyric Video

Oceanhoarse debuted the lyric video for its latest single this month.

The band premiered the lyric video for its song, ‘The Damage’ July 16. The song is the third single from the band’s forthcoming debut album, Dead Reckoning, which is scheduled for release Aug. 20 through Noble Demon. Pre-orders are open.

The debut of the band’s new lyric video comes more than two months after the band debuted the lyric video for the album’s then latest single, ‘Reaching Skyward.’ That song’s premiere was preceded by the debut of the album’s lead single, ‘One With The Gun.’ The song and its video premiered Feb. 26.

The band offered an explanation on the blistering new single’s musical arrangement in a prepared statement.

“The Damage’ is a heavy metal anthem that begins with a moody guitar intro followed by haunting vocals,” the statement reads. “Then, the song takes a sudden U-turn and drags you in the middle of a metal mayhem filled with some lightning fast drumming! The Alice in Chains style wailing vocal harmonies and the song’s epic closure with harmonized guitars ultimately leads us to the punchline: ‘The damage is done.’

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release distributed to the media. However, in listening to the song and watching the video, listeners can infer that the song’s lyrical theme deals with someone who is dealing with a lot of personal inner demons.

Speaking of the song’s video, it places the song’s lyrics over various backgrounds, such as images of a sea monster destroying a ship and the band members performing.
