POP EVIL rolled into Detroit with their MUSIC OVER WORLDS TOUR with MEMPHIS MAY FIRE and MESSER on 4/20.
They kicked in with their mega-hit “Boss’s Daughter” and the hometown crowd was immediately under singer Leigh Kakaty’s control. From there the band performed “Last Man Standing” and “Colors Bleed” with a teaser of SURVIVOR’s “Eye Of The Tiger”. The band brought high energy and their extensive touring showed in the tightness they displayed and the audience reacted with energy and enthusiasm.
Drummer Hayley Cramer pounded the skins with precision and led the band with vigor and grace. Bassist Matt DiRito flung his long hair around and entertained the crowd with his antics at the same time as guitarists Dave Grahs and Nick Fueling made the audience feel like close friends while performing their parts, seemingly with ease.
Midway through the set, the moshpit opened up when they played a snippet of DROWNING POOL’s “Let The Bodies Hit The Floor” inside of their own song “Deal With The Devil”. This set the stage for a marathon of great songs that had the crowd singing every word. The band left the stage after “Take It All”, but the crowd wanted more!
After enough nudging by the audience the band came back for a few more songs including “100 In A 55” and “Waking Lions”. Then they brought out Matty Mullins of MEMPHIS MAY FIRE and Dereak Messer of MESSER and performed “Trenches”.
Smiles were abundant and it was clear a great time was had by the bands and crown alike.
