Critically exalted UK punk rock upstarts SLAVES return to the U.S. this spring for an East Coast North American headline tour.
They touch down on March 6 in Montreal, QC, tear through major markets on the East Coast, and will finish up with a bang at SXSW in Austin, TX with a special show to be announced shortly. See the full itinerary below.
Last Fall, SLAVES unleashed their latest full-length album, Take Control [Republic Records], to tastemaker applause. Alternative Press wrote, “SLAVES pull no punches with social and political commentary. But Take Control is also diverse and boasts sly British humor,” Q Magazine claimed, “Modern life is rubbish, but the tunes are great,” and Kerrang! called it, “a step forward.”
Produced by hip-hop icon and stalwart New York punk Mike D [Beastie Boys], SLAVES cut Take Control at Jackson Browne’s studio in Santa Monica, CA over the course of 2015. It’s an unbridled, uncaged, and undeniable collection of real, raw punk rock and a new dawn for the genre at large.
Since 2012, SLAVES have quietly emerged as 21st century punk and hardcore torchbearers. Their 2015 debut, Are You Satisfied?, notched a Top 10 UK debut and earned both Kerrang!’s “Spirit of Punk” Award and NME’s “Best Video” Award for “Cheer Up London.” Along the way, they garnered prestigious nominations for the Mercury Music Prize and “Best New Band” at both Q and NME. They call The Streets’ Mike Skinner a fan, have shared the stage with Skepta, and toured with Jamie T and Wolf Alice.
