May 18 — Punk rock outfit Trashed Ambulance debuted its new single, ‘Blip on the Radar‘ this week.
The band debuted the new socially conscious composition Tuesday through Thousand Islands Records. The song is expected for inclusion in the band’s forthcoming as-yet-untitled album. The record’s release date and other details are all under consideration.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Blip on the Radar’ blends elements of skate and pop punk together into one whole. The combination of styles makes the three-and-a-half minute composition fully engaging and entertaining from beginning to end.
The lyrical theme featured in the song addresses mental health and addiction. In the process, it also indicts the world’s health care system as part of the discussion.
The band talked about this matter in a prepared statement.
” ‘Blip on the Radar’ is a look into the mind of someone battling addiction and depression, going at it alone in an existence supported by the worst drug dealer of them all… the doctors that feed them pills and false hope,” the statement reads. “The sky opened up and they finally realized that it was always up to them to dig themselves out of the dirt, and Punk music and sobriety were a means to an end.”
