May 3 — Independent metalcore band Canine premiered its latest single this week.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Causality,’ Wednesday. The single is the second from its new, as yet untitled sophomore album, which the band is hoping to release in 2024. The band premiered the record’s lead single, ‘It Used To Be Fun‘ in February.
The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single is a heavy metalcore style composition. It is immediately comparable to works from the likes of Killswitch Engage, Bleed The Sky, and to a slightly lesser degree, The Black Dahlia Murder. That is evidenced through the use of the screaming vocals and the chainsaw sharp guitar licks, as well as the pounding drums and bass.
According to a prepared statement from the band, the song’s lyrical theme is a somewhat contemplative, philosophical statement of sorts.
“‘Causality’ deals with cause and effect, what you do and how you do it will impact your life,” the statement reads. “For us, it’s about fighting our doubts, trusting our close circle, and leaving a mark on the world.”
