Sabaton Announces Details For New Animated Movie, Pro-Museum Campaign

June 12 — Veteran power rock band Sabaton has launched a new campaign to renew attention on the world’s museums.

The band announced Monday, it has launched what it has dubbed the “History Rocks” campaign. At the campaign’s heart is the band’s new animated feature, The War To End All Wars. The band is encouraging museums of all sizes to run the feature at no cost to the museums. The movie, which was crafted in partnership between Sabaton and Yarnhub, tells the stories of World War I presented in the band’s latest album, 2022’s The War to End All Wars through videos crafted by Yarnhub’s staff.

Sabaton bassist and manager Par Sundstrom said the band hopes seeing the group’s new “movie’ will motivate audiences to take more interest in history.

“We are excited to launch this project!,” Sundstrom said. “We believe that by screening “The War To End All Wars – The Movie” in museums around the world, we can inspire people to appreciate the importance of preserving and learning about our history. And what better way is there to do this than by infusing history education with an entertaining, adrenaline-fuelled animated movie?”

Sundstrom continued, ““It’s also a fantastic way to persuade a brand new audience to visit their local museums. Museums are really important to us as a band, especially military and history-focused museums – we have learned so much from them. We want the world to be curious and would love for people to genuinely want to learn about the past. The only way we grow as human beings is by learning about days gone by and appreciating the sacrifices that have been made for us to live the way we do.”

Sabaton is planning to have its new movie run in museum theaters on Armistice Day, Nov. 11, 2023.

In the United States, Michigan’s Military Heritage Museum has already committed to run the movie. Two museums in Sweden and one in the United Kingdom have also committed to the program. The current list of museums taking part in the program is noted below:

The Tank Museum, Dorset, United Kingdom

Arsenalen – The Swedish Tank Museum, Strängnäs, Sweden

Aeroseum, Gothenburg, Sweden

Michigan’s Military Heritage Museum, Jackson, Michigan, United States
