June 2 — Independent hard rock band Sekond Skyn is hoping to release its new album later this year.

In anticipation of the album’s release, the band unveiled the album’s new single, ‘My Head‘ and the song’s video Friday. The song’s musical arrangement is an interesting presentation in itself, as it blends elements of sludge metal with a touch of aggro-rock for a unique overall presentation that is sure to engage audiences.

Lyrically, the song’s content centers on the familiar topic of toxic relationships, according to front man Jesse Shar.

“It’s like giving someone all you’ve got and they abandon you emotionally,” Shar said. “They mentally intrude on you and get in your head. Changing you into someone else. The only place you’re free is in your dreams. They’re in your head and you can’t go on this way. They take you and break you down and build you back up in their own way.”

The song’s video features the band performing its new song with each member in his own respective shots. Shar is, at times, “haunted” by an evil figure as he sings, illustrating the message in the song’s lyrical theme.
