June 9 — Soraia premiered a new standalone single and its companion lyric video this week.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Every Motion‘ and its companion lyric video Friday, to kick off the weekend. The premiere of the new single and video came roughly three months after the band unveiled its take on The Hellacopters’ song, ‘Baby Borderline‘.
The single’s musical arrangement is a catchy composition that once again exhibits the influence of Joan Jett and the Black Hearts while also presenting Soraia’s own unique garage rock style sound and style. The blending of the noted influence and original approach makes the song’s arrangement engaging and entertaining from beginning to end.
Vocalist and ZouZou Mansour talked about the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.
“‘Every Motion’ is taking a look at how unresolved trauma passes through each generation told within the story of a powerful, instinctual wolf,” Mansour said. Ultimately, the soul has become the surviving fighter: the wolf saving her young. The lyrics and music to this one developed pretty quickly. To me, that means it’s both honest and subconscious. I love that about ‘Every Motion’–making it my new favorite Soraia song.”
The wolf in question is featured in the song’s lyric video alongside Mansour as the song’s lyrics are presented next to the pair and a moon that moves across the screen. All of this happens as the song plays over the simple visualization.
