July 5 — Artifas debuted the video for its latest single last week.
The band debuted the video for its new single, ‘The Dark’ June 29. The song is the fourth single from the band’s 2022 album, Reflections. The album most recently produced the single, ‘Safe‘. Its release was precede by those of two other singles, ‘Leave Me For Dead‘ and ‘Cut Me Out.‘
The video for Artifas’ new single is a simple presentation. It features the band performing its new single on a sound stage dressed to have something of a goth look, with just the right amount of light coming through a series of holes.
The song’s musical arrangement is a bit of a departure for the band in comparison to the record’s other singles. That is because it is more of a melodic hard rock style composition in comparison to those works. It is easily comparable to works from the likes of Sevendust.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the premiere of the album’s new single. From what can be inferred from the lyrics provided with the video, the song’s theme is that of the familiar topic of mental health battles. That is just this critic’s interpretation.
In other news, Artifas is set to launch “The Summer Meltdown Tour” Friday alongside Silvertung in Huntsville, AL. The tour is scheduled to run through July 21 in Columbus, OH. The two-week tour will take the bands through the Midwest with other stops in cities, such as Cadott, WI; Cedar Rapids, IA and Leitchfield, KY.
