July 17 — Independent punk rock band Jaguero recently released its latest single.
The band premiered its new single, ‘New Love‘, Friday. The song is the lead single from the band’s forthcoming self-titled EP. The EP’s release date is under consideration but currently expected for release later this summer.
The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single is a distinct post-grunge style composition. That is mad clear through the guitar line and its production, as well as the song’s rhythm section.
The band talked about the song’s arrangement in a prepared statement.
“With ‘New Love’ we gave air to our musically more aggressive side, while still trying to maintain redundant melodies throughout the song,” the statement reads. “It is one of the 5 souls that make up the new EP, with which we tried to carry on the basic idea of our first release: there are no rules or genres, we only ever play what we like.”
The song’s musical theme takes on the all too familiar theme of a broken relationship, and the band addressed this theme in its discussion.
“This song is about the strength and courage to let go of someone who is no longer good for us,” the statement reads. “We need to acknowledge the fear and uncertainty that comes from breaking up with someone we love, thus celebrating the liberation and empowerment that comes from finally standing up for ourselves and our well-being.”
