Aug. 25 — Singer-songwriter Kurt Baker offered up another preview of his forthcoming album, Rock ‘N’ Roll Club, this week.
The preview came Friday in the form of his new single, ‘She Don’t Wanna Be Alone.’ The song is the third single from the forthcoming album, which is scheduled for release Sept. 29 through Wicked Cool Records. Baker debuted the album’s second single, its title track, and the song’s video last month. The record’s lead single, ‘Anchors Up‘ and its video premiered in May.
Baker talked about the musical arrangement in his new single in a prepared statement.
“’She Don’t Wanna Be Alone’ is a song that I think a lot of my old school fans will enjoy,” Baker said. “John Lennon & the Beatles being a big influence. Wyatt and I co-wrote this song and it was one of those collaborations when everything just comes together so quickly! We threw a Mellotron as another nod to the Beatles – but I also I love how it sounds on “Go Let It Out” by Oasis, which probably was most definitely influenced by the Beatles. Basically, let’s face it, the Beatles are the greatest band in the world and “Rock N Roll Club” is my greatest record yet so boom goes the dynamite!”
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the song’s premiere. From what can be interpreted in the lyrics and song title, it centers on a woman who is looking for love. That is just this critic’s interpretation.
In other news, Kurt Baker is in the midst of a series of live dates in support of his new album.
The next of his planned live dates is Sept. 29 in Boston, MA. The concert (and another to follow Sept. 30) is an album release performance. Baker has also announced a series of live dates in Japan Oct. 22-28. Another concert is planned for Nov. 24 in Portland, ME.
