Sept. 12 — Cohen Media Group will release another Douglas Fairbanks double feature collection this fall.
The new collection, which will feature Fairbanks’ performance in the 1921 take of The Three Musketeers (which was released through Fairbanks’ own company, Douglas Fairbanks Pictures) and Elton Corporations’ 1929 presentation of The Iron Mask, is scheduled for release Oct. 17 on Blu-ray and DVD. The second movie is considered the sequel to the first.
In the first of the movies, Fairbanks takes on the role of the famed D’Artagnan, the young man dreaming of becoming a member of the elite guards for French King Louis XIII. In the second movie, Fairbanks reprises his role, this time as he and the Musketeers find themselves in danger from the evil Cardinal Richelieu and Count De Rochefort.
Cohen Media Group’s forthcoming Douglas Fairbanks double feature will come more than two months after the company released the first collection, which featured Fairbanks in Robin Hood (1922) and The Black Pirate (1926).
