Upcoming ToursProng Releases New Album, ‘State of Emergency’; Premieres Album’s Title Track, Video

Oct. 5 — Prong released its latest album, State of Emergency Friday through Napalm Records.

A day ahead of the release of the band’s now 13th album, the band debuted the album’s title track and its companion lyric video. The song and its video are the fourth from the album behind ‘Non-Existence,‘ ‘Breaking Point,‘ and ‘The Descent.’

The musical arrangement featured in ‘State of Emergency’ will especially appeal to Prong’s established audiences. Its staccato guitar riffs and drumming pair with front man and founder Tommy Victor’s equally distinct vocal style to make the song very similar, stylistically, to songs featured in the likes of the band’s 1991 album, Prove You Wrong and its predecessors, Beg To Differ (1990) and Force Fed (1989).

Victor talked about the song’s musical and lyrical content in a prepared statement:

“The title track ‘State of Emergency’ is a bit of a classic Prong style groove metal track but heavier,” Victor said. “It features the last lyric written for the album. I wanted a song that summarized some of the other lyrics .One that would direct the cover art as well. What we get is this depiction of the Orwellian, dystopian reality we are facing. It’s all rather dark, threatening and heavy!”

In other news, Prong has also announced a new handful of live dates in support of State of Emergency alongside Life of Agony. The new dates will span Nov. 1 – 18. A series of dates in January 2024 will follow.
