Oct. 16 — Independent southern rock outfit Rick Monroe and the Hitmen released its latest single this week.
The band premiered its new single, ‘Trouble‘ and its companion lyric video Monday. The song’s musical arrangement is a composition whose southern rock style and sound is easily comparable to works from the likes of Eric Church, Reckless Kelly and others of that ilk.
Band front man and namesake Rick Monroe talked about the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.
“‘Trouble’ was the first song that hitman Alan Beeler and I wrote together,” Monroe said. “It’s about the proud and defiant spirit within us all. It’s unapologetic.”
‘Trouble’ is the third single released by Rick Monroe and the Hitmen so far this year. The band debuted its then latest single, ‘Six Gun Soul,‘ in May. Its debut was preceded by that of ‘Looking‘ in March.
