Oct. 11 — The Flower Kings unveiled the video for its latest single this week.
The band premiered the video for its new single, ‘Day For Peace’ Wednesday. The song is the latest single from the band’s latest album, Look At You Now. The band released the album last month through InsideOut Music alongside the video for the album’s latest single, ‘Mother Earth’
The video features footage of planes flying in the skies during World War II, one of those scenes being the Normandy invasion. Also featured in the video are images of people walking hand in hand and couples sharing special moments together. All of this plays out as the song plays over the visualization.
The song’s musical arrangement is a gentle, flowing piano-driven composition that is so rich with emotion. The steady beat on the snare echoes everything people think of when they think of the military while the strings and piano join with the vocals to make for so much engagement and entertainment.
Vocalist Roine Stolt talked about the new single in a prepared statement.
“This is one of my personal high points on the new album – simple, but full of nice orchestral details. Not a regular prog-epic – a plead for sanity, peace, and compassion in this troubled time,” Stolt said. “It is getting more urgent each day – unfortunately – as we see the violence unfold each day and the senseless wars kill and destroy people’s lives. The beautiful female voice here is Marjana Semkina from ‘I Am The Morning’.”
The Flower Kings released Look At You Now‘s second single in August in the form of ‘The Dream.’ Its premiere was preceded by that of the album’s lead single, ‘Beginner’s Eyes.’
