2 Shadows, The Veer Union Partner For New Single, Video

Oct. 26 — Independent rock duo 2 Shadows has partnered with The Veer Union for its latest single.

The bands premiered its latest single, ‘Marionette‘ and the song’s companion video Oct. 26. The single’s musical arrangement is a melodic rock composition that conjures thoughts of works from the likes of Falling in Reverse and even Papa Roach to a lesser extent.

The song’s lyrical theme is meant to deliver an anti-conformist statement according to information provided in the news release announcing the debut of the new single.

2 Shadows member Glen Bridden explained the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.

“’Marionette’ was a really enjoyable song to write – on the surface it has a great beat and puppet metaphors,” Bridden said. “Conceptually it’s a rant about how people so often feel this obligation to do all these things that seem “right” to be successful, all the while without really knowing why you are doing them. It’s what it feels like to be stuck in the middle of the blind leading the blind and being manipulated. The song is a call for people to stand out and stand up for who they are without letting their integrity be stolen out from under them”.

Bridden also discussed how the song’s the lyrical theme tied into the song’s video.

“In the music video for “Marionette” we wanted to match the meanings drawn from the lyrics and vibe of the song translated into the visuals,” he said. “The void-like space we occupy lends itself really nicely to the darkness in the track. It was also a huge pleasure to work with our good friends in The Veer Union on this video, our combined energy added so much impact and life to the video set!”

In other news, 2 Shadows is in the midst of the “Cold Inside Tour,” which runs through Nov. 18. The tour’s current schedule is noted below.
