Joe Satriani, Steve Vai Announce “Satch-Vai Tour” Dates

Nov. 8 — Guitarists Joe Satriani and Steve Vai will launch a joint spring tour this coming spring.

The veteran musicians, who are already scheduled to tour alongside Eric Johnson for the upcoming G3 Tour — from Jan. 23 to Feb. 10 — will continue their run across America together starting March 22 in Orlando, FL in what they have dubbed the “Satch-Vai Tour.” The duo’s tour is scheduled to run through May 8 in Salt Lake City, UT with more dates to be announced soon.

The current tour schedule includes stops in cities nationwide, such as Durham, NC; Chicago, IL and Houston, TX. Artist ticket pre-sales are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. local time Nov. 13. The pre-sale password is SVx24. General ticket sales are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. local time Nov. 17.

Satriani said in a prepared statement, he was looking forward to the tour’s launch.

“The Satch/Vai Tour is happening!,” Satriani said. “I’m so looking forward to sharing the stage with Steve again. Every time we play together it takes me back to when we were teenagers, eating and breathing music every second of the day, pushing, challenging and helping each other to be the best we could be. I guess we’ve never stopped!”

Vai shared his friend and fellolw guitarist’s sentiments in his own comments.

“Touring with Joe is always a pleasure and an honor,” Vai said. “He is my favorite guitarist to jam with, and now we have another opportunity to take it to the stage. I feel as though we are both at the top of our game and that the show will be a powerful celebration of the coolest instrument in the world, the electric guitar!”
