Dec. 15 — Cohen Media Group will release two classic British wartime movies next month on Blu-ray.

The Sea Shall Not Have Them and Albert R.N. are scheduled for release Jan. 23 in a Blu-ray double feature collection. Both films were directed by Oscar(R) and BAFTA(R) Award-winner Lewis Gilbert (AlfieMoonrakerYou Only Live TwiceThe Spy Who Loved Me).

The Sea Shall Not Have Them (1954) is led by the trio of Michael Redgrave (The InnocentsThe Lady VanishesThe Browning Version), Dirk Bogarde (The ServantA Bridge Too FarDeath in Venice), and Anthony Steel (Storm Over The NileWest of ZanzibarThe Master of Ballantrae). The story finds the men as part of a group of Allied forces fighters whose RAF passenger transport is shot down by German forces. The group, which is fighting to stay alive aboard a life raft, fearing attacks from German U-boats, threats from mines, and mother nature herself, happens to have information that can help Britain survive a Nazi attack, making the group’s survival all the more important.

Albert R.N., the second of the movies in this forthcoming double feature, is led by Jack Warner (A Christmas CarolBoys in BrownHere Come The Huggetts), as well as Steel. The drama is based on actual events from World War II. Compared to the likes of The Great Escape (1963) and Stalag 17 (1953), the movie’s story finds a group of Allied forces prisoners of war trying to ferret out a possible German spy among their ranks. The group eventually decides to figure out a way to escape the camp, which entails using a dummy along the way.

The Sea Shall Now Have Them runs 92 minutes while Albert R.N. (also known by the title Break To Freedom) runs at just under 90 minutes (89 minutes precisely).
