Jan. 10 — Hard rock outfit Dymytry gave audiences another preview of its forthcoming album, Five Angry Men, this week.
The band premiered the album’s second single, the album’s title track, and the song’s companion video Wednesday. The premiere came roughly a month after the band unveiled the album’s second single, ‘Everything is Black‘ and the song’s companion video. The band debuted the album’s lead single, ‘Enemy List‘ in November.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Five Angry Men’ completely stands apart from each of its predecessors. Where the album’s lead single blends elements of power metal and Euro-metal and where the second single blends elements of thrash and melodic hard rock, this latest offering from the band presents an arrangement that is more nu-metal in its approach. The nu-metal approach is exhibited through the crunching, down-tuned guitar line and the rapping from front man Alen Ljubic. One could go so far as to say that this pairing — along with the subtle use of the keyboards — makes the song’s arrangement comparable to works from the likes of Mushroomhead.
The choruses keep that nu-metal approach going what with the heavy guitar line and the rich rhythm section.
Ljubic discussed the song’s lyrical theme in depth in a prepared statement that also found him addressing the song’s animated video.
“Every now and then you need to leave your comfort zone and explore new grounds musically,” Ljubic said. ”We firmly believe it’s mandatory if you want to evolve and surprise yourself and your fans. We want to push our boundaries as much as possible, because that’s what we’ve never been afraid of. Recording and writing a song like ‘Five Angry Men,’ did exactly that, at least from our perspective. We wanted it to be this raging, heavy and unpolished monster that fits the track and album title adequately. The stunning animated video that goes along with portrays us being angry super heroes who are furiously shooting and burning down evil creatures on different planets. It feels just like a perfect combination.“
