Foo Fighters Announces Special One-Off Performance At National Nonprofit Event

Feb. 20 — Foo Fighters will take part in a special concert event next month.

The band announced Tuesday, it will perform March 5 at the Power To The Patients concert in Washington, D.C. The one-night only event is hosted by the nonprofit agency, Power To The Patients. The organization works to make healthcare more affordable for Americans. It does this by pushing for more price transparency from the healthcare industry.

A statement from Power To The Patients officials further addressed the agency’s aim.

Upfront prices empower patients to make informed decisions, take control of their health, and lower their costs,” the statement reads. “All consumers have the right to know the actual price of their care before they receive it. If you believe you have been overcharged for healthcare, or if the price you were quoted doesn’t match your bill, you can find information and resources about how to fight your bills by visiting PowertothePatients.org.”

Foo Fighters said in a prepared statement, it welcomed being part of the upcoming concert.

“When we were asked by Power to the Patients to help raise awareness of the need for transparency in healthcare pricing, we immediately said yes,” the statement reads. “People suffering from illness and injury shouldn’t have to worry about being bankrupted by surprise charges for their treatment.”

Foo Fighters is just one of a number of acts tapped to take part in this year’s concert event. Also on the bill are Fat JoeJelly Roll, Wyclef JeanFrench Montana, Rick Ross, Busta RhymesChuck D, Method ManLainey Wilson, Valerie JuneShepard Fairey, and rock band Everclear.
