Transatlantic Announces Details For New Live Recording

Feb. 16 — Transatlantic has a new live recording on the way.

The band announced Friday, it is scheduled to release its new recording, Live at Morsefest 2022: The Absolute Whirlwind Apr. 26 through Inside Out Music. The expansive set spans five CDs and two Blu-ray discs. It features both of the band’s sets from the 2022 edition of former Spock’s Bear front man Neal Morse’s annual Morsefest.

In anticipation of the recording’s release ,the band premiered a live clip of its performance of its song, ‘Can You Feel It‘ Thursday.

Drummer Mike Portnoy talked about the new recording in a prepared statement.

“Not to be confused by last years live release of our last show in Paris, THIS release of TA at Morsefest 2022 represents the most epic and mammoth of all TA Live releases,” Portnoy said. “2 Nights, 2 completely different sets, 2 TA concept albums done in their entirety…accompanied with Strings, Horns, Percussion, Female Vocals, etc…Transatlantic has always been about “More Never Is Enough”, but no live TA release has ever been more EPIC than this one…It’s the ULTIMATE Live TA experience!”

Morse, who is also a member of Transatlantic, shared Portnoy’s enthusiasm for the release of the new recording.

“At long last, a musical dream come true in true epic fashion!,” Morse said. “To play The Absolute Universe, The Whirlwind, and other great pieces of music with Transatlantic, along with an amazing string section, background singers, etc. What more could any musician ask for? This is the very best of the very best in my view. I hope you all enjoy experiencing this as much as we enjoyed performing it!“
