March 4 — Famed rock band Pixies is scheduled to make its way across Europe this month.

The tour, which is scheduled to launch Friday in Dublin, Ireland, will take place with a new addition to the band in the form of new bassist Emma Richardson. Richardson previously worked with the British act, Band of Skulls. Richardson replaces Paz Lenchantin, who spent the past decade as a member of Pixies.

According to information provided in a news release, Lenchantin has parted ways with the band to pursue her own work.

The band said in a brief, prepared statement, “We’re grateful for Paz’s many contributions, and we wish her all the very best going forward.”

Along with having worked with Pixies, Lenchantin has also recorded and performed with the likes of A Perfect Circle, Zwan, and The Chelsea. Lenchantin herself replaced Kim Shattuck as the Pixies’ bassist in 2014.

Pixies’ upcoming European tour will be followed by a North American run starting May 31 in Charleston, SC. Modest Mouse and Cat Power will join the band for that leg of Pixies’ tour.

As with all of the band’s European tour, that concert is also already sold out. The majority of the band’s North American dates will be on the East Coast and in the Midwest. No western dates are included in the schedule.

After finishing its North American run, Pixies will head back overseas for a series of festival shows and other dates across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The band’s dates in Australia and New Zealand will be alongside Pearl Jam.

The band’s full tour, which will take it through the better part of 2024, is noted below.
