Mest Partners With INK’s Spencer Charnas For New Single

In Upcoming Tours
May 18, 2024

May 17 — Punk outfit Mest has joined forces with Ice Nine Kill front man Spencer Charnas for its latest single.

The band unveiled its new single, ‘I Hate You Sober‘ Friday. The second single from the band’s forthcoming album, Youth, it follows the premiere last month, of the album’s lead single, ‘When We Were Young.’ That single featured a guest appearance from Bowling For Soup front man Jaret Reddick.

Mest’s new single presents a work that will easily appeal to any pop punk fan. That is because it is so easily comparable to works from so many pop punk acts out there past and present, as with the album’s lead single, ‘When We Were Young.’ Additionally, the new single is intriguing in that while Charnas is listed as a guest vocalist, his vocals are sadly, lost within the bigger picture of the song, detracting from its engagement and entertainment to a point.

According to information provided in a news release announcing the debut of the album’s latest single, its lyrical theme centers on the all too familiar topic of a toxic relationship, how that relationship can push a person to alcoholism, and the fight to overcome and escape both matters.

Youth is scheduled for release June 21 through SBAM Records. The album’s track listing is noted below:

YOUTH Tracklist:

1. WHEN WE WERE YOUNG

2. HATE YOU SOBER

3. BARELY HANGING ON

4. EMPTY ROOM

5. WAS IT WORTH IT

6. THAT SATURDAY

7. PARKING LOT
