Nothing More Debuts New Album’s Third Single, Video

May 17 — Nothing More has really been keeping itself busy lately.

Less than two years after the release of its then latest album, Spirits (and an extensive tour supporting the record), the band is set to drop that album’s follow-up, Carnal this summer. The album is scheduled for release June 28 via Better Noise Music and produced its third single this week in the form of ‘Angel Song (ft. David Draiman),’ along with the song’s companion video.

Angel Song‘ is the new album’s third single behind ‘House on Sand (ft. Eric V. of I Prevail)‘ and ‘If It Doesn’t Hurt More.’ The musical arrangement featured in ‘Angel Song’ is distinctly different from those featured in its predecessors. Where those songs are centered more on their electronic elements, this song is more of a pure rock composition. Disturbed front man David Draiman’s vocals pair well with those of Nothing More’s Johnny Hawkins and sound just as good alone.

Draiman spoke highly of Nothing More and the band in addressing taking part in the song’s creation.

“The power of the track is undeniable,” Draiman said. “I’ve been a fan of the band since the very beginning.”

According to a statement from Hawkins, the decision to enlist Draiman for the song was natural.

“As the song was coming together in the studio, it became immediately clear to us that David Draiman’s voice would take it to another level,” Hawkins said. “We’re so happy with the result.”

He continued of the song’s creation and its lyrical theme it “is the haunting sound of our past selves melting into a future that is as bright as it is dark. “Our animal nature is getting more and more chewed up by society and our souls swallowed by technology, but there’s something in us that wants to fight back.”
