Testament To Re-Issue Two Classic Albums

June 7 — Two classic Testament albums will get renewed attention this summer.

The band announced Friday, it will tentatively re-issue its debut 1987 album, The Legacy and its follow-up, The New Order (1988) July 12. Each remastered record will be re-issued separately on digital platforms and vinyl through Nuclear Blast Records.

Front man Chuck Billy said in a prepared statement, the re-issues are coming as a result of expanded resources on the band’s part and new recording technology in general.

“When The Legacy and The New Order were first recorded we were new and had limited resources to record the albums being a young band,” Billy said. “Now, with the remastering, fans will hear the albums in their signature sonic onslaught they were intended to be heard.”

In anticipation of the albums’ re-issues, the band offered audiences visualizers for ‘Over The Wall,’ from The Legacy and ‘Into The Pit‘ from The New Order.

In celebration of the albums’ re-issues, the band will launch a nearly two-month-long tour alongside Kreator Sept. 12 in Reno, NV. The band announced the tour, dubbed the “Klash of the Titans Tour” last month.

The tour will take bands through the Northeast, Midwest, West Coast and Southwest with stops nationwide in cities, such as Cleveland, OH; Portland OR and New Haven, CT.

Testament said in a prepared statement, the upcoming run with Kreator will be a celebration of the forthcoming re-issue of two of its albums.

“Get ready North America. We are looking forward to a co-headline tour with our Thrash master friends Kreator,” The statement reads. “This is gonna be a madhouse of a show with our Bay Area homies Possessed opening the show so get there early. Testament will be performing an old-school set celebrating the re-release of The Legacy & The New Order.”

Kreator also shared its own thoughts on the tour in its own prepared statement.

‘We’re very proud to bring a second edition of the “Klash Of The Titans” to North America!,” the statement reads. “This time with the Bay area beasts, Testament and one of my favorite bands in the world, Possessed. From start to finish, this is metal madness and we can’t wait to deliver our biggest shows to date over there!”

Tickets are available now through the official websites of Testament and Kreator. The tour’s schedule is noted below along with Testament and Kreator’s upcoming fall European tour schedule with Anthrax.
