Oct. 17 — More than two months after getting their first taste of its new album, Arch Enemy fans have gotten a new preview of the record.
The band debuted the album’s second single, ‘Liars & Thieves‘ Thursday, along with the song’s companion video. It follows the premiere of the band’s then latest single, ‘Dream Stealer,’ and the song’s companion video this past August. Both songs are featured in the band’s forthcoming album, Blood Dynasty, which is scheduled for release March 28 through Century Media Records.
The musical arrangement featured in Arch Enemy’s new single is interesting because instead of the intense “extreme metal” sound for which the band has come to be known, this song blends that familiar sound and style with a distinctly more vintage thrash sound. The whole is a unique presentation that is engaging and entertaining in its own right.
According to information provided about the debut of the new single and video, the lyrical theme of ‘Liars and Thieves’ centers on “battling deception and enduring hardship.” Michael Amott, founding member and guitarist said the live footage used for the song’s video was recorded during the band’s ongoing European tour.
