Oct. 18 — As 2024 winds down, Bloodywood is getting wound up and in a good way.
The band announced Friday, it has signed a record deal with Fearless Records, making it the latest addition to the label. Additionally, the band offered audiences the first preview of its coming sophomore album in the form of its new single, ‘Nu Delhi‘ and the song’s companion video.
Bloodywood’s new single features all of the familiar nu-metal leanings and Indian influences featured throughout the band’s debut 2022 album Rakshak. To that end, the arrangement featured here is familiar territory for the band and its audiences.
The band discussed the song’s lyrical message, which is a tribute to its home nation and city, in a prepared statement.
“New Delhi, known as the melting pot of India, is arguably one of the most diverse cities on the planet,” the statement reads. “With a history of that has seen as much bloodshed as it has peace and celebration, it made for the perfect womb to birth this band. The contrasting visuals, cultures, and backgrounds thriving within the city is accurately reflected in our music — where genres that cannot work together on paper…somehow do. With this song, we wanted to talk about the deadly, yet nurturing nature of the city and how it can give you a life beyond your wildest dreams if you play your cards right, or end it if you try to outsmart it.”
The song’s video echoes the sentiment expressed in the statement as it takes viewers to various parts of New Delhi while the band performs its new single.
In other news, Bloodywood also recently announced the schedule for a planned United Kingdom/European tour set to launch Feb. 21 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The tour is scheduled to run through March 27 in London, UK. The full schedule for the tour is available here.
