Jan. 31 — Deadly Apples debuted its new single, ‘Volatile,’ Friday.
Two very well-known musicians helped out with the song’s creation in the form of Filter front man Richard Patrick and Nine Inch Nails’ own Danny Lohner. The song is the lead single from Deadly Apples’ forthcoming album, Distress, which is expected for release this summer. The album’s exact release date is under consideration.
Produced by Lamothe and mixed by Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson, Depeche Mode) and pre-produced by Michael Beinhorn (Soundgarden, Korn), ‘Volatile’
Patrick spoke positively of the band’s new single and taking part in its creation.
“When I heard that Alex and Antoine were working on a new Deadly Apples album and my pals Danny Lohner and Ben Grosse were involved, I was stoked when they asked me to sing on ‘Volatile,’ Patrick said. “The track reminds me of old-school industrial metal, much like Skinny Puppy, Filter, and Nine Inch Nails.”
Patrick is correct in his comparison to early works from Skinny Puppy and Nine Inch Nails. Listeners can also make comparisons to works from Gravity Kills and even to a lesser extent, Marilyn Manson.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the debut of the new single.
In other news, Deadly Apples is scheduled to take part in the El Vivo Rock Festival march 29 in Lima Peru. Tickets are available here. The festival will also feature performances from the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, Anthrax, and Marilyn Manson.
