-

March 3 — Skatepunk outfit Heathcliff will tentatively release its new album this weekend.

The band announced Monday through a news release, it is scheduled to release Postcard From a Parallel Universe Friday through SBAM Records, Bearded Punk Records, and Pee Records. Pre-orders are open.

In anticipation of the record’s release, the band debuted the single, ‘Keep This Light On.’ the closer for the 10-song record, it boasts a musical arrangement that is instantly comparable to works from the likes of Sum 41, New Found Glory and to a slightly lesser degree, Bowling for Soup.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the details for the new album and single. Lyrics were also not provided with the sing. From what can be inferred, the song’s theme is celebratory, reminding listeners in its chorus that “Good times should never end.”

Along with that single, the album has also produced the single, ‘Circles.’ that song’s arrangement is starkly different from that of ‘Keep This Light On.’ It presents a more serious tone through its arrangement and is more directly skate punk in its nature than ‘Keep This Light On.’ This song is more along the lines of works from fellow skate punk act Chaser.
