Feb. 28 — The Flower Kings will tentatively release its latest album this spring.
The band announced Friday through a news release, plans to release its next album, How Can You Leave Us Now!? May 2 through InsideOut Music. The album’s pending release will come more than a year after the release of the band’s then latest album, Look At You Now.
In anticipation of the album’s release, it debuted the record’s lead single/title track Friday, along with a companion video. The video is an artistic presentation featuring the band’s members performing their respective parts to the song on what is meant to resemble old black and white photos over an animated background as the song plays over the visualization.
The song’s gentle, flowing arrangement conjures thoughts of some of the softer material from the band’s fellow prog acts, Dream Theater and Spock’s Beard. Audiences can also hear the most subtle of Pink Floyd influence at points throughout the nearly six-minute opus.
In other news, The Flower Kings also has a handful of live dates across Europe this summer in support of its forthcoming album. The tour’s schedule is noted below:
