Gemini Syndrome offered audiences anotherpreview of its forthcoming album over the weekend.
The preview came in the form of the new single, ‘Carousel.’ The song is the third single from the band’s forthcoming album, Origin: From Nothingness To Everything, behind the most recently relesed single, ‘2B1,’ and ‘Suffer In Silence.’ The release date for Origin: From Nothingness To Everything is under consideration.
The musical arrangement featured in Gemini Syndrome’s latest single is a composition that is certain to engage audiences. Front man Aaron Nordstrom’s vocal delivery once again plays a direct role in that engagement. Once again, the comparison to Mudvayne front man Chad Gray’s vocal sound and style is unmistakable. At the same time, he blends that approach with an equally notable Maynard James Keenan-esque style delivery to make for even more interest. The addition of an instrumentation that is just as comparable to works from Tool adds even more depth to the presentation.
Gemini Syndrome drummer Brian Steel Medina discussed the song’s philosophical/semi-existential lyrical theme in a prepared statement.
“We can often be our own worst enemies,” Medina said. “There’s this illusion of control, like we’re holding the reins, but sometimes we don’t realize we’re just along for the ride. ‘Carousel’ captures that duality—the war between who we are and who we want to be.”
Nordstrom expanded on his band mate’s comments, noting, “The song is about that reckoning—when you finally admit that you’re the architect of your own suffering. But acknowledgment is the first step to change.”
