Sept. 15 — Independent hard rock act Ovtlier premiered the video for its new single, ‘Dead Man Running‘ this week.
The band premiered the video Friday, more than four months after premiering its then latest single, ‘Heartless‘ and the song’s companion video. The song is another musically intense work from the band that is a solid fit for any hard/active rock radio programmer’s play list.
According to information provided about the song, its theme “communicate a message of resilience and defiance against haters, jealousy, and rumors. It speaks to the artist’s unyielding spirit, not losing sleep over fame and its resulting enemies. The song portrays the protagonist as someone who is immune to the negativity and is ready to retaliate, not initiating conflict but always finishing it. The recurring image of “Dead Man Running” symbolizes the futile attempts of those who try to bring him down.”
Knowing the theme featured in this song, it makes the song’s NSFW video definitely intriguing in tis own right. Very much akin to something that one might expect from one of the Saw movies, it features a man being tortured in very graphic fashion as he is forced to watch a woman on screen. The visual makes one think that maybe the story is one of a predator being punished by his disturbed captor, but knowing the theme, again, it definitely enhances the song’s presentation.
