Horizon Theory Debuts New Single, ‘Darkness,’ Companion Video

-

Sept. 22 — Independent rock band Horizon Theory kicked off the weekend by premiering another new single and video.

The band unveiled its new single, ‘Darkness‘ and the song’s companion video Friday. The premiere of the new single and video came more than a month after the band debuted its then latest single, ‘Astronomer‘ and the song’s video.

The premiere of ‘Astronomer’ and its video in late July came more than two months after the band presented audiences yet another single, ‘December‘ and the song’s companion video.

The musical arrangement featured in Horizon Theory’s new single is a unique presentation, opening with a heavy, crunching guitar riff that will appeal to any death metal purist. From those opening bars, the band turns the arrangement more in a melodic hard rock direction with the slightest metalcore leaning.

The heaviness exhibited in the song’s musical arrangement does well to compliment the song’s lyrical theme, which according to front man Josh Harrington, focuses on the topic of the thoughts and emotions we deal with after doing something we know we will regret in the end.

“I wrote these lyrics about the aftermath of a bad decision,” Harrington said. “What happens to you mentally when you do something you shouldn’t have and now you have to live with it. Things can get pretty dark in your own mind knowing you can’t change the past.”

The video for Horizon Theory’s new single is a familiar style presentation. It features the band performing its new single on stage as the song plays over the visualization.
