Sept. 23 — Veteran rock outfit Foghat unveiled another preview of its latest album, Sonic Mojo, Friday to open the weekend.
The preview came in the form of its new single, ‘She’s A Little Bit Of Everything‘ and the song’s video, which premiered through UltimateClassicRock.com. The song and its video are the second from the forthcoming album, which is scheduled for release Nov. 10 through the band’s own label, Foghat Records. The band premiered the album’s lead single, ‘Drivin’ On‘ and its video last month.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘She’s A Little Bit Of Everything’ is a simple mid-tempo, blues-based rocker. The simple approach to the arrangement is proof that less truly is more as it keeps listeners engaged without trying hard at all. It is just a fun, catchy composition thanks to the bluesy guitar arrangement and vocal work.
Guitarist/engineer/co-producer Bryan Bassett even declared of the song’s arrangement, “The song is a straight-up blues rocker that’s quickly becoming a crowd favorite in our live show.”
Drummer Roger Earl said of the song’s lyrical theme that he believed it was inspired by Debi Simmonds, the wife of the late Savoy Brown Blues Band founder Kim Simmonds (with whom Bassett and Earl recorded under the banner).
“As soon as I heard this song, I knew it was for us,” Earl said. “I claimed that it was written about Kim’s wife, Debi, but she is far too fine a person to ever admit that that’s where it came from. I really believe that this is where Kim got the inspiration for this song. It’s probably my favorite. Thank you, Kim.”
The video for Foghat’s new single blends footage of the band on stage performing its new single and animated footage of various women as front man Scott Holt pays tribute to every woman out there and as his band mates perform their respective parts to the song.
In other news, Foghat is in the midst of a tour in support its new album. The tour’s next scheduled stop is Oct. 5 in Topsfield, MA at the Topsfield Fair. The band’s current schedule is noted below:
