Oct. 4 — Singer-songwriter Kurt Baker has a new radio show of his own.
Baker’s new program, “The Buzz Electric With Kurt Baker,” airs on Saturdays on Little Steven’s Underground Garage from 4 a.m. – 8 a.m. The program airs on Sirius XM Channel 21.
Baker was upbeat as he talked about his new program.
“I am beyond excited to announce that I’ve been given the opportunity to host my own radio program on the one and only The Underground Garage Channel 21 on SiriusXM!,” Baker said. “This has been a dream of mine for many years, and now that it’s come true, I couldn’t be more psyched to spin some of the greatest music ever made on the best Rock N Roll Radio Station in the World!”
He continued, “I’d like to thank the staff at The Underground Garage for all their support over the years, which has made this new opportunity all the more fun and exciting, as well as my two best buddies and bandmates Geoff and Wyatt for all their help, wouldn’t be here without ’em. When I first started DJ’ing vinyl in Portland, Maine years ago I called the night The Buzz Electric, so it was only fitting to continue with that title – but credit must be given to a little old band from The Netherlands called the Apers, who released a great album with the same title, and hence where I got the name from.”
The announcement of Baker’s new Siruis XM show comes on the heels of the release of his latest album, Rock ‘N’ Roll Club, which dropped Sept. 29 through Wicked Cool Records. The record has produced three singles: ‘She Don’t Wanna Be Alone,’ ‘Anchors Up‘ and the album’s title track.
In other news, Kurt Baker is in the midst of a series of live dates in support of his new album. The next of his planned live dates is Oct. 22 in Tokyo, Japan.
