Totally Slow Premieres New Single, ‘Crosshairs,’ Video; Announces New Live Dates

Oct. 17 — Independent punk rock band Totally Slow premiered unveiled its latest single and video this week.

The band unveiled its new single, ‘Crosshairs‘ and the song’s video Tuesday. The short but intense composition clocks in at only one minute, 42 seconds but boasts a powerful musical punch what with its staccato style playing and half sung, half screamed vocals. The overall arrangement will appeal to fans of bands, such as Unwound, Jawbreaker, and Good Riddance.

The band addressed the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.

“The firehose of panic and fear being sprayed at us 24 hours a day is disintegrating our sense of purpose and priorities,” the statement reads. “Violence towards marginalized people is being packaged by right-wing media as patriotism, and that gun being aimed at anyone is actually that gun eventually being aimed at everyone.”

The song’s video is a unique presentation. It features the band’s members standing behind a group of vintage televisions in a darkly-lit room as the monitors play footage of the band performing live.

‘Crosshairs’ is featured in the band’s forthcoming album, The Darkness Intercepts, which is expected for release in 2024 through Refresh Records.

In other news, Totally Slow has a handful of live dates planned for this month and next in its home state of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. Those dates are noted below:

Upcoming Tour Dates:

Oct 25 Local 506 in Chapel Hill NC with Weakened Friends
