Nov. 13 — Work on Anthrax’s new album continues and front man Joey Belladonna offered a brief update on progress Monday.
The band’s vocalist is tracking his vocals with producer Jay Ruston and said he is working hard on getting his part down perfect for each song.
“Every take I do has to be full of energy and full of impact, so I’m knocking down every chair in the room to get to the other side, just trying to get something really, really magical,” Belladonna said.
According to Ruston, this week is the first week of vocal tracking for the as yet untitled new album and spoke highly of Belladonna and his work ethic.
“Joey really is a trooper, and he can sing and sing for hours,” Ruston said.
Monday’s update is the first from the band since May, when the band said it was working on tracking the record’s instrumentals.
When it is released, Anthrax’s new album will be the band’s 12th album and its first since the release of the band’s 106 album, For All Kings. The band released its latest live recording, Anthrax XL in July 2022.
