The Dollyrots Debuts Video For New Single, ‘Alligator’; Announces New Tour Dates With Bowling For Soup

Nov. 14 — The Dollyrots offered audiences yet another taste of its new album, Night Owls this week with the premiere of a video for its new single, ‘Alligator.’
The band debuted the single’s new lyric video Tuesday. The video features the lyrics to the catchy pop punk composition over the visual of a puppet alligator head showing up in a forested area and against a random backdrop as the single plays over the presentation.
The song’s musical arrangement is, as noted, a catchy work whose hooks and choruses will keep listeners fully engaged and entertained throughout the course of its nearly three-minute run time. The poppy vocals and instrumentation follo0w the trend of the album’s other current singles, ‘When We’re Sober,‘ Hey Girl,’ and the album’s lead single/title track.
Dollyrots guitarist Luis Cabezas talked briefly about the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.
“’Alligator’ is the most adolescent song on Night Owls, and we don’t really mean it from a writing, production, or music standpoint. It’s more about the frame of reference, the imagery that takes us back to growing up in a small town outside of Tampa. We had nothing to do but play guitars & hang out next to lakes, never really fitting in but dreaming of a time and place where we might.”
In other news, The Dollyrots is scheduled to join Lit in January as support for Bowling For Soup in a handful of dates. The dates in question span Jan. 21-28 in various cities across Florida.
Bassist/Vocalist Kelly Ogden said in a prepared statement of her own, the dup is looking forward to hitting the road with Bowling For Soup and Lit.
“Going on tour with Bowling for Soup again feels like a family reunion!,” Ogden said. “A lot of The Dollyrots’ early touring was spent with BFS, and we learned so much about being a good band on and off the stage from them. Got to tour the UK with them and Lit last year and it was too much fun. Can’t wait to do it again.”
