Dec. 1 — Independent rock act The Lonely Ones opened December with a new single, video and album announcement.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Don’t Cry For Me‘ over the weekend, along with the song’s video. The premiere of the new single and video came more than three months after the band debuted its then latest single, ‘One More Time Around‘ and its companion video.
The musical arrangement featured in the band’s latest single is a catchy modern rock tuned driven by its guitar line. The fuzz of the guitars and the general production actually gives the arrangement a sound and stylistic approach that likens it — to a point — to works from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age. At the same time, there is a certain aesthetic to the song that gives it something of a neo-classic rock style and sound. The blending of those leanings makes the song a catchy work that is sure to engage and entertain listeners.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the premiere of the new work. The lyrics provided with the song’s video seems to lean pretty heavily toward the all-too-familiar topic of broken relationship. That is just this critic’s interpretation.
Speaking of the song’s video, it is another familiar style work that features the band performing its new single on a simple sound stage as the song plays over the visualization.
