In Flames Re-Issues Its Latest LP, ‘Foregone’ With Bonus Track

Feb. 9 — In Flames re-issued its album, Foregone, this week with a special extra.

The band re-issued the album digitally with the bonus track, ‘Become One.’ The re-issue came Friday, one year after the album’s initial release through Nuclear Blast Records. The new single was recorded during the sessions for the new album but not originally included in the album in it’s initial release.

The band addressed its inclusion in the new re-issue in a prepared statement.

Foregone was a very special record to make and time for our band,” the statement reads. ”We normally don’t have any extra material leftover but this time we had ‘Become One’ and want to share it with you all.  Hope you enjoy!! See you out on the road this year!”

The song’s musical arrangement is, like so much of the content featured in Foregone, familiar territory for the band. The more melodic choruses throw back to the days of the band’s album, Clayman, while the heavier more intense moments show an approach that the band has taken in each of its albums.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the album’s re-issue. The lyrics provided with the song’s visualizer hint at something existential. That is just this critic’s interpretation.

The band’s mention of seeing audiences on the road in its statement was a reference to the band’s ongoing tour. The Asian and Australian leg of the tour is scheduled to wrap Feb. 18, with the next scheduled date Feb. 13 in Adelaide, Australia. The band is scheduled to launch the U.S. leg of the tour alongside Gatecreeper and Creeping Death May 1 in Portland, ME.
