Feb. 22 — Rock supergroup Atomic Life debuted its very first single this week.
The band, which is composed of drummer Billly Rymer (Dillinger Escape Plan, Ho99o9, Thoughtcrimes), guitarist Cody Hosza (Glassjaw), bassist Michael Sadis (NK, The Rivalry) and vocalist Adea Frances, premiered its first single, ‘Hit Me First‘ Thursday.
The song’s musical arrangement is an up-tempo rock composition that is equally driven by each musician’s performance. The richness of the bassline and the gritty sound of the guitar alongside Frances’ vocals makes for such an immersive work that is an easy fit for so many active rock radio stations’ play lists. The production even brings out the best from the drums to put them on the same level as the rest of the instrumentation.
According to information provided in the news release announcing the song’s premiere Frances describes the song’s lyrical theme as her “deepest wish that straddles the thin line between forbidden desires and sinister intentions.”
In other news, Atomic Life is scheduled to perform live March 30 in New York City alongside Bang Gamblers. Atomic Life will serve as support for the concert, which is an album release show for Bang Gamblers’ new album.
