March 15 — The Intemperate Sons offered audiences yet another preview of its forthcoming album this week.
The preview came Friday in the form of the new single, ‘Control8.’ The song is just the latest preview of the band’s forthcoming album, Dark Day’s Night, which is scheduled for release June 20 through Frame|Work. A video for the new single is scheduled to premiere Friday. The album has also produced the singles, ‘Once Again‘, ‘Lake of Poison,‘ ‘Faceless Man,‘ ‘Game of Keep Away,‘ ‘Way Back When‘ and ‘Unrealized.‘
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Control8′ continues to exhibit The Intemperate Sons’ grunge leanings while also adding in a very subtle doom touch for a composition that is quiet melancholy to say the least.
According to information in the news release announcing the premiere of the band’s new single, the song’s lyrical theme touches on human nature so to speak. The information states the song “explores our tendencies as humans to control others through efforts to feel better about ourselves. Inadvertently, such behaviors are inherently destructive within without, and create a lonely existence. Maybe we should let go?”
