Wage War Debuts New Single, Video; Announces New Live Dates

-

March 20 — Wage War unveiled its latest single and video this week.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Magnetic‘ Wednesday, along with the song’s companion video. The single and its video are standalone material separate from the band’s most recent album, Manic. The band released that record in late 2021 through Fearless Records.

The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single is an interesting approach because it is such a subtle stylistic change of pace from what the band typically crafts. Instead of the full-on intensity of the metalcore creations the band has crafted, this arrangement separates that heaviness from a more melodic mainstream rock style that leads the arrangement in its first half. That more familiar metalcore approach comes into play in the arrangement’s second half, making for even more impact.

According to a statement from the band, the song’s lyrical theme centers on the familiar topic of being drawn into relationships with people even knowing the situations may not be the best for us.

“‘Magnetic’ is a song about an attraction to someone that you just can’t seem to quit,” the band said of the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement. “Despite knowing what may be best, we’re pulled back to a feeling that inevitably takes control. Fate decides our future.”

The song’s video is familiar in its own right, presenting the band on a sound stage in a somewhat futuristic look as it performs its new single.
