Dec. 4 — Arch Enemy unveiled the latest entry from its forthcoming album, Blood Dynasty this week.
The band debuted the album’s title track and its companion video Wednesday. The debut of ‘Blood Dynasty’ and its video follows that of ‘Liars & Thieves‘ and its video in late October. The band premiered the album’s lead single, ‘Dream Stealer,’ and the song’s companion video in August.
The musical arrangement featured in Arch Enemy’s new single takes the album in a different direction from its predecessors. This is a heavy song in its own right but as guitarist and founding member Michael Amott explained, “This one shifts gears from the fast and furious energy of our two recent singles, diving deeper into melody and atmosphere.”
No information was provided regarding the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the debut of the new single and video. The lyrics provided with the video hint at the possibility of the theme being a nihilistic commentary about humanity’s future because of its own actions and mindset. That is just this critic’s interpretation.
The song’s video features the band performing its new single against the backdrop of a citadel’s bell tower as the song plays over the visualization.
Blood Dynasty is scheduled for release March 28 via Century Media. Pre-orders are open.
