Jan. 24 — Smile Empty Soul unveiled the latest single from its forthcoming EP, Swan Song, this week.
The duo premiered its new single, ‘Violence,’ Friday. The song is the fifth single from the EP, which is scheduled for digital release Feb. 28 and physical release Apr. 11 through The Label Group|Zoid and Virgin Music.
The musical arrangement featured in the song is a familiar brooding melodic rock style composition. It is immediately a radio ready composition that fits easily into any active rock radio programmer’s daily play list.
According to vocalist/guitarist Sean Danielsen, the song’s lyrical theme centers on the familiar topic of toxic relationships.
“‘Violence’ is a song about the many toxic relationships that occur in our society,” said Danielsen. “They seem to be everywhere, be it in the home, the streets, or even the relationship between the people and the government. It’s inescapable.”
