Feb. 14 — Ryan Hamilton is scheduled to release his latest album, Haunted By The Holy Ghost, March 10 through Wicked Cool Records and in anticipation of its release, debuted the record’s latest single and video this week.

Hamilton premiered his new single, ‘A$$hole‘ and its companion video Tuesday. The song and its video are the third from the forthcoming album behind  ‘Paper Planes‘ and ‘On The Edge.’

The musical arrangement featured in ‘A$$hole’ is a fun, infectious composition. It is a light indie rock style composition. Listeners could argue there is even a bit of a garage rock style approach taken to the arrangement, which adds even more to the song’s interest.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the premiere of the new single and video. Though in listening to the song, it would appear the theme is one of someone who doesn’t want to be just another memory for a woman. He wants to be the man. That is just this critic’s interpretation.

The video for Hamilton’s new single features Hamilton performing his new single and stage, and blends that with footage of him sitting in front of what looks like a trailer next to World Champion barrel racer Ryann Pedone and his badger friend, Conor.

Hamilton had the following to say of the video:  “It’s not everyday you shoot a music video with a badger! Why a badger? Because badgers are a*******,” Hamilton said. “They’re adorable assholes. Haha. So proud of this song. The self sabotaging title will keep it off most radio stations… which is a shame, because it deserves to be a big hit.”
