Feb. 15 — Independent metalcore band Canine premiered its latest single this week.
The band premiered its single, ‘It Used To Be Fun’ Wednesday. The song is expected for inclusion in the band’s sophomore album, Perception, which is currently expected for release in 2024.
‘It Used To Be Fun’ is available to stream and download now through YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘It Used To Be Fun’ is a work that any metalcore purist will enjoy. The sharp, cutting guitars, screams and clean vocals work alongside the equally heavy drumming and bass to make that clear. The whole lends the song to comparison to works from the likes of 36 Crazyfists, The Black Dahlia Murder, and others of that ilk.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme, but the band offered a slight glimpse into the theme with a collective statement.
“This song is about our past experiences as a band in the scene, and moving forward from old mistakes,” the statement reads.
