April 11 — Devildriver is giving audiences another preview of its forthcoming album, Dealing With Demons Vol. 2.

The band premiered the album’s second single, ‘If Blood Is Life‘ and its companion video Tuesday. The premieres followed that of the album’s lead single, ‘Through The Depths,’ and its video early last month.

The musical arrangement featured in Devildriver’s new single is notably different from that of the record’s lead single in terms of its sound and style. Where ‘Through The Depths’ offers up a more melodic, flowing musical presentation, ‘Blood Is Life’ throws back to the earlier sounds of Devildriver from its early catalog with its heavier approach.

According to front man Dez Fafara, the lyrical theme presented in ‘Blood Is Life’ encourages listeners to live in the now rather than the past.

“Shadows of the future, ghosts of your past walking the floor – why do these things haunt us as humans, when we should be focused on the fact that, like the chorus says, ‘Time, it waits for no one, Time, it’s worth the taking,” Fafara said. “Learn to focus on the now, the here, the present.”

The video for Devildriver’s new single is a familiar style presentation. It collects live footage of the band on stage as the song plays over the visualization.

Dealing With Demons Vol. 2 is scheduled for release May 12 through Napalm Records. The record will come more than two years after the release of its companion/predecessor, Dealing With Demons, which was also released through Napalm Records. That record produced the singles, ‘Wishing,‘ ‘Nest of Vipers,’ ‘Iona,’ and ‘Stay Away From Me.’

Dealing With Demons II will release through a variety of platforms, all of which are noted below along with the album’s track listing.
